In our Miami office, we help patients manage pain. Our nation is suffering through an epidemic of addiction to painkillers, which are very often prescribed after an accident. Medical doctors often manage acute pain from an auto accident or other vehicle accident by prescribing painkillers that may temporarily relieve pain, but do not get to the root of the problem. Thus, the pain continues, and often the result is an addiction to the painkillers and a potential worsening of the condition due to lack of proper treatment. Chiropractic care is the safe alternative to painkillers and often the best road to a full recovery.

The problem with pain

If you have been in an accident and are suffering pain, talk to us. Pain is your body communicating with you, telling you something is wrong. Unfortunately, most people don’t know how to speak the language of the body because the painful location is not always the source of the problem. As chiropractors, we’re trained in understanding the body’s signals and finding the true, underlying cause of the pain. Our patients often experience healing in not just the areas injured by the accident, but also in chronic aches and pains that they may have experienced before the accident.

Accident injuries

When you are in a car accident, your body is traveling at a given speed. The speed of your vehicle is suddenly interrupted, but your body continues to move in the direction it had been going. Therefore, your bones, muscles, ligaments, and joints are pulled in different directions due to the sudden jerking, jolting, and twisting. Neck and spinal injuries are common; arms and legs can become twisted and broken, ribs can be cracked; head trauma can occur. The pain from these injuries can be severe, and it’s understandable that people may take too many pain meds in order to control the pain.

Whiplash occurs in about two-thirds of auto accidents. It is caused when the head is suddenly jerked, and it can happen even when accidents occur at slow speeds. The problem is that whiplash does not always present symptoms immediately after the accident, and therefore an organic injury can be missed at first. This delay can cause greater damage and can prolong suffering. Thus, studies suggest that many whiplash sufferers are still in pain more than five years after the accident.

Ending the suffering

At Miami Accident Center, we consider these scenarios unacceptable. No one should have to suffer for years or pump painkillers in order to cope. As chiropractors, we look at the body as a fully-connected whole, and we know the pathways of pain that often occur after injury. Chiropractic treatment reduces pain by addressing the injury at its source and appropriately manipulating surrounding and connected areas which may be receiving pain signals from a very different part of the body.

We use high-tech, state-of-the-art therapeutic technology and light force chiropractic techniques to provide the highest quality care. By treating our patients holistically, we are able to create a treatment plan that quickly leads to reduced pain and inflammation as well as long-term recovery.

Over 10 million people were addicted to opioids in 2019, many caused by misuse of prescription drugs. At Miami Accident Center, we are committed to doing all we can to help decrease these devastating numbers by providing the very best chiropractic care as an alternative to prescription painkillers.
